I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, where I obtained my MD and MPH degrees from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 2021, distinguished among the top students in the class, along with holding a master's in health MBA. Since my early years in medical school, I was also a member of the University of Tehran Cancer Research & Nano-bioelectronic laboratories and the Breast Cancer Research Center, where I kept working on breast diseases, cancer diagnosis and treatment, wound healing, etc. which led to several US patents and journal papers. Currently, I am a postdoctoral research fellow at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, conducting translational research on surgically resected pancreatic cancer using patient-derived 3D models. I also furthered my passion for minimally invasive surgery by obtaining robotic training at the Johns Hopkins Minimally Invasive Surgery Training and Innovation Center (MISTIC). My current research interests revolve around cancer invasion, the tumor microenvironment, minimally invasive surgery, and improving surgical outcomes. Looking ahead, my future goal is to pursue a general surgery residency to become a surgeon-scientist, aiming to enhance surgical outcomes while working on the frontline of the cancer battlefield.
