Luke V. Selby, MD, MS, FACS is a board-certified general surgeon and surgical oncologist and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Kansas Cancer Center. His clinical interests include cutaneous malignancies and soft tissue sarcoma. He is actively involved in research into how surgical stress affects the body’s ability to detect and fight cancer and is a member of the Editorial Board of Surgical Oncology Insights. His original research into the effect that general anesthesia has on post-operative recovery and long-term cancer outcomes has been funded by The Ohio State University James Cancer Center and the University of Kansas Cancer Center and has resulted in two investigator-initiated randomized clinical trials. A graduate of general surgery residency at the University of Colorado and complex general surgical oncology fellowship at The Ohio State University, Dr. Selby received teaching awards at both institutions.
