Dr. Andrew Loehrer is a surgical oncologist and health policy researcher at Dartmouth–Hitchcock Medical Center, The Dartmouth Institute, and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. His clinical practice includes care for patients with cancers of the skin, soft tissue, and gastrointestinal tract. Loehrer’s academic work focuses on the political determinants of health, including ongoing K08 career development award evaluating the geospatial heterogeneity of health policy effects on the equity of cancer care delivery in the United States. Loehrer currently serves as the Cancer Liaison Physician for the Dartmouth Cancer Center and as an academic mentor to trainees across Dartmouth. Dr. Loehrer received his M.D. from Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine before completing a residency in general surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and a clinical fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center. He also holds a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in health policy.
