Macelyn Batten is a current first year research resident within the Department of Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina and the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, in Charleston SC. She received a bachelor's degree in human biology from North Carolina State University and her doctorate of osteopathic medicine degree Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine. She is focusing her reserach efforts on quality improvement and health services research related to patients with gastrointestinal and hepatopancreaticobiliary cancers.
