Resident in General Surgery
University of Nebraska Medical Center
I am currently a fourth-year resident at the University of Nebraska Medical Center applying to complex general surgical oncology fellowship. I earned my BA in biochemistry from Wartburg College and then matriculated to Saint Louis University where I completed my MD. I was drawn to surgical oncology due to the breath of pathology and the complexity of the operations throughout multiple anatomic sites. This, in conjunction with the comprehensive, multidisciplinary care of patients with cancer as well as the appropriate sequencing of treatment solidified my desire to pursue this profession. I have broad clinical and research interests in surgical oncology, including variations in multidisciplinary care and its relationship to oncologic outcomes with respect to rurality.
