Paxton V. Dickson, MD, FACS, currently serves as an associate professor of surgery and surgical oncologist at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. His clinical focus is in the treatment of patients with hepatobiliary, pancreatic, gastric and endocrine tumors and disease processes. Dr. Dickson joined the faculty at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center after completing fellowships in surgical oncology and endocrine surgery at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He currently serves on National Comprehensive Cancer Network panels for Thyroid Cancer and Neuroendocrine and Adrenal Tumors as well as the Society of Surgical Oncology Endocrine/Head and Neck Disease Site Work Group. He currently serves as director of the UTHSC institutional Gastrointestinal/Hepatobiliary multidisciplinary tumor board and is an active member in the American College of Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Association for Academic Surgery, and Society of University Surgeons. Dr. Dickson is the recipient of several teaching awards from students and residents at UTHSC.
