Neal Bhutiani, MD, PhD is a Complex General Surgical Oncology fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He completed his undergraduate studies at Duke University before attending the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed General Surgery residency at the University of Louisville. During residency, he earned a PhD in Immunology in the laboratory of Dr. Nejat Egilmez, focusing on colorectal tumor immunology, gut mucosal immunology, and targeted cytokine-based therapies for colon cancer. His clinical interests include colorectal cancer and colorectal peritoneal metastases, and his research interests include colorectal tumor and mucosal immunology, colorectal tumor-microbiome interactions, and immunomodulation for colorectal cancer prevention and treatment.
