Joal D. Beane, MD is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology at The Ohio State University, James Comprehensive Cancer Center. He received his medical degree and general surgery training at Indiana University School of Medicine and completed fellowships in complex surgical oncology at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD. and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA. He is a dedicated surgical oncologist and passionate researcher and scientist. His research interests span both clinical and basic science arenas with the overarching goal of improving the delivery of surgical care and ultimately improving survival in patients with advanced cancer. As a member of the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology, Dr. Beane is helping to further develop cellular-based immunotherapies and gene therapies for treating metastatic cancer.
