Meghan Flanagan is an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington and Affiliate Investigator in the Division of Public Health Sciences at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. She is a fellowship trained breast surgical oncologist with an interest in translational and clinical research. Her research aims to better understand the genomic signatures associated with tumor response to chemotherapeutic, endocrine and immunologic agents in the preoperative setting, and how to study and translate these findings to clinical care of patients at a population level. Her ultaimate aims are to better understand tumor heterogeneity, and develop more efficacious preoperative regimens for patients with hormone-receptor positive breast cancer to decrease the need for mastectomy and axillary lymph node dissection.
