Dr. Amer H. Zureikat MD FACS is UPMC Professor of Clinical Surgery, Chief of the Division of Surgical Oncology and VIce Chair for Surgical Oncology Services at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is also director of UPMC's Pancreatic Cancer Center and director of UPMC's Center for Advanced Robotic Training. He received his medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, general surgery training at the University of Chicago and surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Zureikat specializes in cancers and diseases of the pancreas, biliary tract, stomach, and duodenum and is an expert in robotic pancreatic surgery. His academic interests include the multimodality treatment of pancreatic cancer, and the application of robotics to gastrointestinal cancers in general and pancreatic cancer in particular. With over 250 manuscripts and book chapters, Dr Zureikat is considered an expert in robotic surgery, with seminal publications on the safety, feasibility and outcomes of robotic pancreatic surgery.
