Assistant professor
Department of surgery, National Taiwan University Hospital, Taiwan (Republic of China)
I graduated from the Department of Medicine, finished residency and fellowship of surgery, and got PhD in Graduate Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology in National Taiwan University. I first devoted myself to the clinical diagnosis of pancreatic tumors and published in the resolution of diabetes through changes in anatomical structure after pancreaticoduodenectomy (ASO 2013) and clinical diagnosis and surgical suggestions for peripancreatic schwannoma (Surgery 2014). Through the cohort studies, I found that surgical policy changes the patient’s pancreatic endocrine/exocrine functions (Medicine 2015; WJS 2015) and quality of life (FE, 2021; Journal of the American College of Surgeons, 2022). I also collaborated with the oncologists and the radiologists to utilize CT, PET/MRI, FSPG-PET and FDG-PET to compare the correlation of the severity and prognosis of pancreatic cancer patients (EJNMMI 2016/2018/2019; Oncoimmunology 2021). I initiate a prospective, randomized controlled clinical trial to confirm that the patients with postoperative pancreatic fistula can continue to eat by mouth (BJS 2019) and continue clinical studies related to ergonomics, medical quality, quality of life, and radiomics analysis..
I am enthusiastic in innovative research, and hope that can combine with clinical desires. During the doctoral program, I mastered the effect and invasiveness of glycosylation on pancreatic cancer, digestive and endocrine neoplasms. I found MUC 20 and C1GALT1 are significantly related to the aggressiveness of pancreatic cancer and the patient's prognosis. C1GALT1 (Oncogene 2018/2020/2021) is also highly correlated with the prognosis of gastric cancer patients and can be used as a new novel biomarker in evaluating. The important results of the above research not only identify the possible causes of diseases, but also serve as an important basis for personalized medicine and translational medicine. I won many academic awards and honors, including Awards for Outstanding Writings, the Best Resident, the Best OPO, and Investigator Awards.
