Cecilia Ethun, M.D., M.S., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in surgical oncology, gallbladder and bile duct cancer (cholangiocarcinoma), and liver cancer, including colorectal liver metastases.
Dr. Ethun earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at Emory University, where she also earned a Master of Science in clinical research as a Katz Foundation Research Fellow in Surgical Oncology. She gained advanced training in complex general surgical oncology and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery through a fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.
