Amelia Stapleton Van Doren is a second-year medical student at Albany Medical College. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Smith College. Before starting medical school, she spent three years at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke in Bethesda, Maryland working as a Post-Baccalaureate Research Fellow. Her research at Albany Medical College, conducted alongside board-certified surgical oncologist Dr. Lindy Davis, is focused on cutaneous melanoma, with a particular focus on sentinel lymph node biopsy quality improvement. In her free time, she enjoys road cycling, cooking, and listening to live music.
