My primary surgical focus is pancreatic cancer, specifically on borderline resectable pancreatic cancer. As the principal investigator on several clinical projects at the center, I have laid the groundwork in establishing a robust method of data collection. This has culminated into a rewarding collaborations within the Greenberg Pancreatic Cancer Institute, which foster academic and personal growth. In addition to my growing surgical activities, I serve on various committees at The Society for Surgical Oncology (SSO) and The Association for Academic Surgery (AAS). I also serve in multiple leadership roles at Fox Chase Cancer Center such as clinical documentation initiative (CDI) which looks to improve the centers case mix index (CMI) and severity of illness (SOI) scores by improving surgical documentation. Besides my involvement with quality improvement (QI) projects, I maintain a strong focus on clinical research. Among my translational projects, I am interested in identifying biomarkers for those diagnosed with pancreas cancer and the implementation of germ-line testing in these subset patients. In summary, my broad surgical practice has allowed me to explore various areas of interest, and I have honed in on research projects that include quality improvement, translational and clinical research.
