Resident
University of Washington Department of Surgery
I grew up in Los Gatos, California, and attended Stanford for college, where I majored in Human Biology (Neuroscience/Psychology focus), minored in Spanish, and played goalkeeper on the NCAA Division I soccer team. I received my medical degree from Johns Hopkins, where observing several Whipple procedures inspired my surgical career path. I'm currently a PGY5 general surgery resident and Cancer Research Institute/Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Washington. My research interests include identification and reversal of immunosuppressive mechanisms in the fibrolamellar carcinoma tumor microenvironment, application of radioisotope theranostics to hepatocellular carcinoma diagnosis and treatment, and integration of palliative care into surgical oncology. I plan to pursue a fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology. In my free time, I enjoy all outdoor adventures, especially hiking, skiing, mountain climbing, and scuba diving, and when indoors, I like to bake, write, and sing.
