Dr. Margo Shoup completed a surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in 2002, and joined Loyola University Medical Center where she became Professor and Vice Chair of Surgery and Assistant Dean of the Medical School. Since then, she completed an MBA at University of Massachusetts in Amherst, has taken executive leadership roles at community, community teaching, and integrated healthcare systems and has been an advocate for bringing high quality surgical oncology care to community settings. Dr. Shoup served as a Director of the American Board of Surgery, where she sat on the Complex General Surgical Oncology Board and participated in the development of the inaugural written and oral exams. She has had leadership roles in several surgical societies, including being the immediate Past -President of the Western Surgical Association. She has participated in and led many initiatives with the Society of Surgical Oncology, having served on the Executive Council as the community surgeon representative, and currently serving as the co-Chair of the Women in Cancer Surgery group. Margo lives in Orlando, Florida, has been married for 33 years and is the proud mother of two grown children. She enjoys traveling, hiking, golf and live music.
