Nancy Klauber-DeMore, MD is Professor of Surgery and BMW Endowed Chair in Cancer Research, Co-Program Leader of Developmental Cancer Therapeutics at Hollings Cancer Center, and Director of the Medical Scientist Training Program at Medical University of South Carolina. She serves as Vice-Chair for Entrepreneurship in the Dept. of Surgery, and was awarded Top 10 Women in the SouthEast for Med-Tech. Dr. Klauber-DeMore has 7 patents or patents pending and has been inducted into the National Academy of Inventors. Dr. DeMore discovered the role of secreted frizzled-related protein 2 in cancer and has developed the only targeted therapy to SFRP2 (IVT 8086). She co-founded Innova Therapeutics, a Charleston based biotech company, to advance drug development into the clinic. Based on her research, Innova Therapeutics received rare pediatric disease and orphan disease designation for IVT 8086.
