Mohamad El Moheb, MD is a general surgery resident at the University of Virginia. Dr. El Moheb received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the American University of Beirut. After medical school, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital, focusing on developing interpretable AI models in Surgery. He is currently a research fellow in Dr. Allan Tsung's laboratory and is pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science. His work focuses on unraveling the genetic underpinnings of disparities in cancer outcomes, alongside developing AI applications in surgical practices. He has published more than 70 manuscripts in leading journals including JAMA, JAMA Surgery, and Annals of Surgery. He is also the recipient of multiple research awards including the Association for Academic Surgery Research Trainee Fellowship Award and the Alpha Omega Alpha Postgraduate Fellowship.
