Jessica Lie is currently in her last year of general surgery residency at the University of British Columbia. She was raised in Montreal where she completed her medical school at McGill University. During her residency, she pursued a Masters in Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School to establish a strong foundation in epidemiology and statistical analysis for clinical research.
Her research interests are in gastrointestinal cancer, surgical palliative care, patient-centered outcomes, and frailty in the context of surgery. She has received grants from the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and Resident Doctor’s of British Columbia for her research work.

She will be pursuing a surgical oncology fellowship at MD Anderson starting August 2024. She is excited to continue in the footsteps of her mentors and become a surgical oncologist.
