While studying medicine at Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University in Moscow, Russia, I engaged in biomedical research. Alongside comprehensive education in basic and clinical medicine, I volunteered in Dr. Dina Stepanova’s lab for several years where I actively participated in cancer biology research. During my final year of medical school, I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Ekaterina Koltsova at the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. In Dr. Ekaterina Koltsova's lab, my research focused on the intricate signaling pathways of the interleukin-27 receptor and its impact on myelopoiesis with conditions such as abdominal aortic aneurysm and the immunology of hepatocellular carcinoma. This experience deepened my understanding of immunology and cancer research and fostered my curiosity to explore these realms further. As a culmination of my work in the lab, I successfully defended my thesis with excellence, marking a significant milestone in my academic journey.
Motivated to expand my research expertise, I decided to pursue a short-term postdoctoral training opportunity under the guidance of Dr. Jayati Basu at the Cleveland Clinic. During this period, I actively contributed to research focused on unraveling the role of ThPOK in regulating the development of myeloid cells. Furthermore, I collaborated with Dr. Justin Lathia's laboratory to investigate the role of sex differences in myelopoiesis during glioblastoma.
I joined Dr. Joal Beane's lab at the Ohio State University. With the knowledge and experience I have gained so far; I aim to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying a rare orphan disease called liposarcoma. Specifically, my project is dedicated to investigating the dysregulation of small non-coding RNA within dedifferentiated liposarcoma.
