Elizabeth Grubbs, MD is a Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where she serves as Program Director for the Fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology. She is the Deputy Director of Education for the Division of Surgery as well as the Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Surgical Oncology. In August of 2022, Dr. Grubbs was appointed the Director of Faculty Academic Career Development in the Division of Academic Affairs.
Her clinical practice is dedicated to the treatment of benign and malignant thyroid, adrenal, and parathyroid disease with clinical and research interests focusing on the treatment of hereditary endocrine neoplasias and sporadic medullary thyroid cancer. She also leads a multi-institutional registry for MTC that has current federal funding to evaluate natural history well as patient reported outcomes of this often chronic disease. Additionally, her research program focuses on non-RET mediated mechanisms of MTC with the goal of identifying potential pathways for new MTC therapeutics.
