I am a surgical oncologist practicing in the Greater Cincinnati area. I had the pleasure of training under Donald Morton and Armando Giuliano at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in their first class of fellows, where I was exposed to the first use of sentinel node biopsy for melanoma and breast cancer. In the years that followed, I was in practice in the Kaiser Permanente system in Southern California. Theodore O"Connell MD was my mentor and friend in those years.
I relocated to Cincinnati for family reasons in 2002.

I have been a busy general surgical oncologist with interests in breast cancer and melanoma, among other disease. Our site has been a national leader for accrual to breast cancer clinical trials, and we have developed a cutaneous oncology program that is a beacon of excellence.

I have been an early adopter and advocate of gene expression testing for breast and skin cancer.
