Ifeanyichukwu Ogobuiro earned his BS in Neuroscience and graduated with Magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Dallas and subsequently obtained his master’s degree in Health Sciences with Honors from Meharry Medical College. He then obtained his M.D. degree at Central Michigan University and completed his internship training at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospital Cleveland.
He completed his T32 surgical oncology research fellowship at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center under the mentorship of Dr. Jash Datta and Dr. Nipun Merchant. His research interests span clinical, translational, and basic science disciplines investigating (1) the biological and non-biological factors that drive racial disparities in clinical outcome in pancreatic cancer; (2) differentially expressed molecular signatures in high-risk populations to identify molecular vulnerabilities and therapeutic opportunities; and (3) identifying mechanisms that drive response to immune checkpoint inhibition in platinum-resistant homologous recombination deficiency pancreatic cancer.
