Dr. Tran is a board certified surgical oncologist with expertise in the treatment of melanoma and sarcoma. Dr. Tran completed her medical training at UC San Diego and her general surgery residency at the University of Illinois Chicago. During residency, she completed a surgical oncology research fellowship at Stanford University. She completed a Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship at City of Hope Medical Center.
Dr. Tran is a member of several associations including the Society of Melanoma Research, American College of Surgeons, and Society of Surgical Oncology. Dr. Tran has extensive experience in multi-institutional collaborative research and has co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts in journals including Annals of Surgery, JAMA Surgery, and Annals of Surgical Oncology. She has presented her work nationally and internationally, including the American Surgical Association, Pacific Coast Surgical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and Western Surgical Association. She has received numerous awards and accolades for her research. Her research interests include health services research, specifically understanding health disparities and gaps in the delivery of care in the US as well as measuring patient reported outcomes in oncology
