Surgical Resident
Brigham and Women's Hospital, United States
Eliza is a surgical resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital on the path to a career in Breast Surgical Oncology. She is currently in her two years of dedicated research time, during which she is a fellow at Harvard’s Center for Surgery and Public Health (CSPH). Eliza's interest in health services research began as an English Literature Major at Amherst College, where she focused her studies on the patient experience of disease via an analysis of illness poetry. She graduated Magna Cum Laude prior to matriculating at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai via the school’s early admission FlexMed program. Her work at CSPH, under the guidance of Drs. Christina Minami, Tari King, and Elizabeth Mittendorf, aims to better understand quality of life outcomes in older adults after locoregional therapy for breast cancer, helping to inform treatment conversations with patients and improve patient-provider shared decision-making.
