Dr. Julie Margenthaler is the Director of Breast Surgical Services of the Joanne Knight Breast Center at Siteman Cancer Center and Professor of Surgery and Director of the Breast Fellowship Program at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis Missouri. She is a graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency and breast fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Margenthaler is board certified by the American Board of Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and has served as the President, Secretary-Treasurer, Chair of the Communications Committee, and Member of the Board for the American Society of Breast Surgeons and Program Committee member and Councilor at Large on the Excecutive Committee for the Society of Surgical Oncology. She is currently Section Editor for the Annals of Surgical Oncology, Associate Editor for the Journal of Surgical Research, reviews for 12 other journals, and is the author of over 200 peer-reviewed publications, reviews, editorials, and book chapters. Dr. Margenthaler has given numerous lectures nationally and internationally and is committed to the mission of improving the lives of women with breast diseases and breast cancer.
