Dr Amersi is Associate Professor of Surgery, Vice Chair of Surgical Education and Program Director of the General Surgery Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She completed her general surgery training at David Geffen UCLA Department of Surgery in 2004 and then went on to a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at John Wayne Cancer Institute. She holds many leadership positions nationally including being the past president for the Southern California Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, Board of Directors for the Association of Program Directors in Surgery as well as being on the Program Committee for several national meetings including the Society of Surgical Oncology, Pacific Coast Surgical Association, as well as the Association of Program Directors in Surgery. She has served on the CME committee for SSO and is on the fellowship committee for the ASBrS. Dr Amersi has over 150 publications in clinical research in surgical oncology and is Co-PI on a number of breast surgical clinical trials and is a PI on an FDA trial for robotic nipple sparing mastectomy .
