Alexandra C. Istl MD MPH is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She received her medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. She completed her General Surgery residency training at the University of Western Ontario, during which time she obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. She went on to complete her Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital and a Visiting Fellowship in soft tissue sarcoma surgery at the Fondazione IRCCS – Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori in Milan, Italy. Her research efforts focus on neoadjuvant approaches to soft tissue sarcoma and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in cancer care and education.
