Dr. Neha Goel is a triple board-certified surgical oncologist and surgeon-scientist at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine-Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center where she is as an Associate Professor of Surgical Oncology. She completed her general surgery residency at Columbia University Medical Center, a surgical critical care fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and a complex general surgical oncology fellowship at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Her clinical practice focuses on the multidisciplinary management of sarcoma, melanoma, and breast cancer. She is a member of the SSO Program Committee and the Transatlantic Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group Clinical Trials committee. She is also the founder and director of the Miami Breast Cancer Disparities Study. She has extensive experience in disparities research and health policy experience from her research at the Center for Surgery and Public Health at Harvard Medical School and work with the World Health Organization. Dr. Goel's research is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Breast Cancer Research Foundation, V Foundation, American Surgical Association Fellowship Research Award, and the ASCO Career Development Award. She aims to improve local, national, and global cancer control efforts in the areas of cancer health disparities through targeted cancer prevention efforts, community outreach and engagement, and the use of precision medicine and tailored treatments to improve cancer health equity and outcomes.
