Boaz Wong is an MD/PhD Candidate at the University of Ottawa and student reseracher with The Ottawa Hospital, Ottawa, Canada. I previously completed my undergraduate in medical sciences with a specialization in physiology at the University of Western Ontario. I am currently working under Dr. Carolyn Nessim with a reserach interest in resection of large soft tissue sarcomas and their prognostic indicators. My reserach pertains to managing sarcoma resection databases and finding associations between different factors with recurrence-free and overall survival outcomes. This is currently being done in collaboration with University Hospitals Birmingham.
I am an aspiring physician scientist with an interest in oncology. My PhD project will be looking at increasing the efficacy of the novel oncolytic virus cancer therapeutic through combination with various small molecules. I hope to translate these findings to improve tumour control following surgical resection with these novel biotherapeutic treatments.
