Kyle Hitscherich,DO has started his General Surgery Residency training at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark Delaware. During his first three years of training he worked closely with the Surgical Oncology Department, at the Helen F Graham Cancer Center, on outcomes based research. He wishes to pursue a career in Complex General Surgical Oncology. In 2021 he took time off of his residency training to accept a research fellowship position at the National Institute of Health. He currently works in the Surgery Branch at the National Cancer Institute researching Immunotherapy and Adoptive Cell Therapy in advanced stage cancer patients. His current research interests include expanding surgical sources of neoantigen reactive lymphoctes for Adoptive Cell Therapy, examining transcriptomic signatures affiliated with antitumor T cells as well as improving screening efforts in identifying neoantigen reactive lymphocytes.
