Dr. Richard Bleicher is a Professor of Surgical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center, where he is the Clinical Director of the Breast Service Line and the Director of the Society of Surgical Oncology’s accredited Breast Fellowship Program. Dr. Bleicher received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, completed his Residency at the Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, and did his Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the John Wayne Cancer Institute. He is the immediate past Chair of the SSO’s Breast Fellowship Program Directors Subcommittee, and sits on the Board of Directors for the NAPBC (National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers), representing the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Bleicher is the immediate Past Chair of the NAPBC Quality Improvement and Information Technology Committee, and is a surveyor for the NAPBC. Dr. Bleicher’s areas of research include health services research, with much of his recent research focused on optimal times to treatment and the effects of delays on breast cancer.
