Dr. Ecker is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Prior to joining the Rutgers Cancer Institute, Dr. Ecker was chief fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Ecker completed General Surgery residency training at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating as the Keith Reemtsma Surgical Resident of the Year and the Jonathan E. Rhoads Research award recipient. Dr. Ecker received his medical degree at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, graduating with a Distinction in Research and a member of the AOA Honor society. Dr. Ecker has broad research interests in genomic biomarker discovery to guide rational clinical trial design. His research is currently indepenendly funded by the New Jersey Department of Health's Commission on Cancer Research.
