Yongwoo David Seo MD is a third year fellow at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He completed his general surgery training at University of Washington in Seattle, WA, during which he worked as a research fellow at the Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center. His research interests and experience include evaluating the effects of combination immunotherapy in organotypic models of human pancreatic adenocarcinoma, as well as evaluating the safety and efficacy of intralesional TLR4 agonist injection in the setting of metastatic soft tissue sarcoma. The first-author work investigating the immune impact of TLR4 agonism was recently published in JAMA Oncology.
His most recent work in the T32 research fellowship at MD Anderson centered around the impact of the host microbiome and virome in tumor immunology and immunotherapy response. His first-author work evaluating the impact of microbiome modulation in the setting of advanced melanoma undergoing first-line immunotherapy was recently accepted for publication in Cancer Discovery.
