Prejesh Philips is an academic surgical oncologist who is currently an Associate Professor at University of Louisville school of medicine. After earning his medical degree from Delhi University he went on to complete his surgical residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York and University of Texas at San Antonio. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Surgical Oncology and HepatoPancreatobiliary Surgery. He is board certified in general surgery and surgical oncology. His clinical practice comprises of broad based Surgical oncology and advanced endoscopy and he is able to offer cancer patients cutting edge surgical care in a modern multi-disciplinary setting. His previous research interests include role of immunonutrition in cancer, pancreatitis pathway improvement and cancer stem cell evolution. He is a principal investigator of multiple investigator-initiated and sponsored clinical trials and is a co-investigator on multiple others. He is the Program Director of the ACGME accredited Complex Surgical Oncology fellowship at University of Louisville. He serves on several local, national and regional committees and has a special interest in cancer outreach into underserved areas. He has authored multiple peer reviewed publications, book chapters and online modules.
