Dr. Gangi is currently Director of the Gastrointestinal Tumor Program and Associate Program Director for the Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program in the Department of Surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. She is board certified in Complex General Surgical Oncology and General Surgery. Her clinical and research interests have focused on the management of complex gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary malignancies and, specifically, metastatic colorectal cancer. At present, Dr. Gangi serves as co-investigator on two NIH funded studies; one evaluating implementation of innovative methylated ctDNA technology and another studying the “determinants of liver metastasis” in colon, pancreas, and prostate cancer. In addition, she has secured DoD funding to study chemotherapy induced liver injury in mouse models and has published over 70 papers and several book chapters related to her research, and the advancement of innovative treatments in cancer patient care.
