Ruby Kazemi was born and raised in Missoula, Montana. She went to Carleton College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry. She then moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to attend the University of Michigan Medical School. Throughout medical school, she has worked in the lab of Dr. Lesly Dossett, conducting health services research with a primary focus on de-implementation of low-value breast cancer care in older women. She is now in her fourth-year of medical school, and is applying into Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
