Kelly Herremans is a general surgery resident at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Her research focus is in pancreatic cancer, cancer health disparities, the tumor microenvironment and the impact of the oral microbiome. Kelly is dedicated to resident wellness as well as promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in surgical care. Kelly is currently a precision medicine fellow through the Program for Applied Research and Development in Genomic Medicine (PARADIGM). In addition to this training, she is completing her Master’s degree in Biomedical Informatics in order to enhance her experience with the manipulation of large sequencing datasets. She is an aspiring surgical oncologist with the ultimate goal of becoming a practicing surgeon-scientist.
