Dr. Melanie Ongchin is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Division of Surgical Oncology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. She completed her general surgery residency at the State University of New York, University at Buffalo where she also completed a research fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. She finished her surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and is where she currently practices. She has an interest in medical education and serves as the Program Director for the CGSO fellowship. Her clinical practice includes the management of complex GI malignancies with a focus on peritoneal surface malignancies.
