Resident Physician
University of Maryland Medical Center
I am Dr. Ace St. John, a PGY4 resident from the University of Maryland. I am deeply passionate about surgical oncology and am currently applying for the Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship. My interest in oncology is driven by the intricate complexities of cancer biology and the potential of emerging technologies. I am particularly focused on mixed tumors and sarcomas, exploring the reasons behind treatment failures and advancing preoperative risk assessments through oncogenomics and the understanding of cancer-immune system interactions. I am interested in innovation and technology, and some of my research has focused on integrating and developing artificial intelligence technology within the surgical field, particularly in education. My future focus is to collaborate on generating predictive models that can assist with some of the challenges faced by patients with sarcoma, such as screening, treatment resistance, and recurrence.
