Mohammad Zaidi, M.D., M.S. is a second year Complex General Surgical Oncology fellow in the Department of Surgery of Duke University. He is from Atlanta, Georgia and completed his undergraduate, graduate and medical school education at Emory University. He acquired a master's degree in immunology at Emory prior to entering medical school, where he ultimately found his passion for general surgery. He traveled to Indianapolis to complete residency training at the Indiana University Department of Surgery. During residency, he completed a research sabbatical in cancer immunology at the Winship Cancer Center of Emory University. He led the creation, execution, and dissemination of the Disparity Morbidity and Mortality Conference within the Indiana University School of Medicine and at numerous departments around the country. Outside of medicine, he is passionate about contemporary ballet, having danced professionally in the US and abroad. He plans to pursue a surgical career with a focus in hepatobiliary malignancies, while maintaining a strong passion and research enterprise in healthcare disparities.
