Dr. Katherine Jackson is a board-certified general surgeon, and is currently a Complex General Surgical Oncology fellow at Saint John’s Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, CA. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in Hanover, NH at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. She pursued General Surgery Residency training at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where she helped lead efforts to reduce opioid utilization after surgery and improve patient safety in the operating room. During residency she was accepted into a 2-year immunology research fellowship program and published basic science and surgical outcomes works focused on metastatic melanoma, hepatobiliary malignancies and cancer associated cachexia. Her clinical focuses include oncoplastic breast surgery, melanoma, sarcoma, and endocrine surgery. Dr. Jackson aspires to continue investigating soft tissue malignancies, optimizing patient outcomes, and volunteering for surgery missions abroad.
