Aikaterini is a Medical Doctor currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in surgical oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, and Research Fellow in Surgery at Harvard Medical School. Her research is focused on melanoma, under the supervision of Dr. Genevieve Boland. Aikaterini received her MD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in Greece. She has contributed to 2 book chapters and has 16 publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has also submitted many abstracts and given more than 20 oral presentations in the US, the UK, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Brazil. She has served as a Treasurer of the Society of Junior Doctors (SJD), as Undergraduate Lead at the “Essential Skills in the Management of Surgical Cases” (ESMSC) marathon course, and as an Associate Editor of the peer-reviewed “Novelmeds” journal. In 2021 she lead a systematic review and meta-analysis funded and sponsored by the World Health Organization. She is highly interested in surgical oncology, general and pediatric surgery, and surgical education. After her research fellowship, she aims to pursue a clinical career in Surgery, starting with residency. She loves all things jazz, and in her free time she listens to audiobooks, cooks meals from around the world, and plays with her cat, Pantelis.
