Dr. Villano is an Assistant Professor in the division of Surgical Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA. He received his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed a General Surgery residency at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. During that time, he spent 2 additional years performing a Surgical Oncology research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, followed by completion of clinical fellowship training at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Dr. Villano sees a broad scope of cancers including gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, skin, and soft tissue. He has particular expertise in minimally invasive approaches including robotic surgery and directs the robotic surgery educational curriculum for the Fox Chase Cancer Center CGSO fellowship. His research encompasses clinical outcomes/health services research and translational studies across these various fields. Dr. Villano is an active participant in numerous national surgical societies including the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer, Society of Surgical Oncology, and Association of Academic Surgery.
