Dr. Misha Armstrong obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville in 2015. Through a dual degree four-year program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, she received her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health in 2019. Dr. Armstrong’s MPH capstone project focused on providing head and neck cancer screenings and culturally appropriate cancer education for patients in underserved communities in Miami. She gained a unique perspective and skill set to become a surgeon focused on providing care for my patients while keeping in mind the broader impact of access to preventative care and health equity on patient outcomes. Dr. Armstrong is a General Surgery Resident at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and completed a clinical research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with the Hepatopancreatobiliary Service. Her research interests include health disparities, cancer prevention, and examining surgical outcomes through the lens of public health.
