General Surgery Resident
Department of Surgery, McGill University Medical School, Montreal, QC, Canada, Canada
My name is Sarah Al Ben Ali, I was born and raised in Kuwait. From a young age, I have harbored a profound interest with the intricate workings of the human body and a fervent desire to make a tangible difference in people's lives. This innate passion has shaped my journey towards becoming a beacon of hope in the field of surgical oncology. For my medical education, I have attended Kuwait University, Faculty of Medicine. Fuelled by an unyielding determination to pursue excellence, I have decided to further my medical education abroad. My quest for knowledge led me to McGill University's General Surgery Program in Montreal, Canada, where I found myself immersed in a world of boundless opportunity and unparalleled learning. Throughout residency, my desire for surgical oncology burned ever brighter. I was drawn to the field's variety of complexities, recognizing it as a precious specialty that encapsulated a vast range of surgical skills, multidisciplinary care, and groundbreaking research. Guided by mentors, I have dedicated myself to extend my commitment to surgical oncology beyond the formal residency education, as I have consistently pursued opportunities to enhance my knowledge and skills in this field. Participating in multiple electives and engaging in multiple research projects. A passion of mine that fully materialized during residency was my love for teaching. I found myself spending more and more time with the rotating clerks to help them navigate the different pathologies and variable presentations they face during their time on our service.I look forward to the day when I can influence and build a younger generation of surgeons
