Avril Coley, MD is a PGY-4 General Surgery resident at Massachusetts General Hospital. Avril received her BS in Biology from Davidson College before obtaining her MD at Washington University in St. Louis. Avril's clinical and research interests are in hepatopancreatobiliary malignancies with a particular focus on the differences in gene expression, immune cell interactions, and microenvironment between normal tissues, primary liver tumors, and metastatic lesions. Upon completion of residency, Avril intends to pursue fellowship training in Complex General Surgical Oncology before establishing a career as a surgeon-scientist. In her free time, Avril enjoys travel, science-fiction novels, and true crime podcasts.
