Clinical Research Fellow
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
Pratik Chandra is a general surgery resident at NYU Langone Medical Center-Manhattan and the 2023-2025 Kao Family Foundation Clinical Research Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Originally born in India, Pratik immigrated to North America as a small child and completed his elementary and secondary school education in Toronto, Canada. He then began his journey southward and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Buffalo and medical school at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He then began his general surgery residency at NYU, where he developed a keen interest in surgical oncology and hepatobiliary surgery through his interactions with patients both in the OR and on the wards. In light of this newfound passing for oncology, he decided to pursue a dedicated research sabbatical during residency at MSKCC where under the tutelage of great faculty mentors, he has the fortunate opportunity to conduct impactful clinical research. Pratik hopes to combine the skills he learns from his research fellowship with his clinical acumen from residency to provide the best possible care he can as a budding academic surgical oncologist.
